It does, simply because it does not have the overhead of several BIG front- and backscripts like Rev.
e.g. the 3000 lines "table object" script...
That's good to know - and now I see the importance of keeping the stripped-down MC IDE active! I should get more involved in the community - I have been very busy with school and haven't made much contribution here in awhile.
well, several times I had the experience of a stack created with MC 2.3
and converted to Rev 2.5 that was running faster as a standalone
made with MC than as a standalone made with Rev... both on MacOS9
and WinXP...
This is very encouraging, and this makes me want to upgrade. All license purchases are done through Runtime Revolution now, but to use the MC IDE, one just follows the instructions on the Yahoo Group, correct?
This was specially noticeable when user was returning to card 1 on which was a complex group made of a large number of images...
That's good to know... are there specific things to nail down the speed difference?
It only happens with certain stacks, but I can't determine the pattern. Small palette windows like the one shown do it, but the MC Tools palette doesn't. A very basic stack I created a couple months ago has the problem, but the MC Home stack is immune. It doesn't matter if the resize corner is present or not.
Suggestions?
Does your code have any resizing handlers? Are you using any custom window
shapes?
No and no. I thought a resize handler was the culprit, too, but I found no resize handlers.
You claim the MC IDE is unaffected -- I'm pretty sure those windows don't have any resizing code.
I just tested something out: the Home stack and MC Tools palette are unaffected, but the "Standalone Builder" stack, for instance, is affected. Here are pictures of Standalone Builder:

(no, my IDE is usually not that bright purple - I have a script in Home that randomly changes the bgcolor on every launch)
There's not any inherent reason that a window
should resize itself that I know of but I haven't used the MC version you
mention under Tiger. Sorry I can't help more.
Is anyone else using Tiger? Does anyone still use 2.4.3, or am I a lone holdout?
