Are there issues related to using sub-views ?
None that I know of. There is no real distinction: top-level are subviews of a hidden row.
Blocked views also resize and manipulate sub-views all the time.
I seem to be getting a variety of different core dumps (the trace of one example appears below) when attempting to increase the size of a view that has sub-views.
Can you post or email the definition string you're using?
