I would like to use libmetalink in the next version of the metalink generator. Currently aria2c isn't using it because it's not packaged (I've filed a bug for aria2c[1] not using it and that was the response from Tatsuhiro).
So it's a bit of a dual thing going on there, but as soon as I have metalink through REVU[2] I'll start working metalink and libmetalink together into one. I've just added libmetalink to my PPA[3] so that is a place to get preliminary builds for the different architectures. After that I was thinking about packaging metalink-creator and working on getting the mini-downloader to work on linux with libmetalink. Greets, Bram PS I would agree with anybody who would say that programs need to depend on it before it can be included. But the dependent packages will come ;) [1] http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=2255981&group_id=159897&atid=813676 [2] http://revu.ubuntuwire.com/details.py?package=metalink [3] https://launchpad.net/~bneijt/+archive On Thu, 2008-11-27 at 19:19 +0100, Philipp Hagemeister wrote: > -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- > Hash: SHA512 > > When searching a sponsor for my libmetalink package, I've been asked[1] > whether there is any application that uses the library. > > "Mmm ...", I thought, "... axel v3 is not ready yet, but hey - that's easy: > libmetalink is developed by Tatsuhiro Tsujikawa*, > aria2 is developed by Tatsuhiro Tsujikawa, > therefore: > aria2 uses libmetalink! > And anyway, who writes C nowadays?
