It looks like they have a system for disclosing conflicts of interest <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Conflict_of_interest#How_to_disclose_a_COI>. That might help people feel more comfortable with editing.
Another option would be to try and contact a mathematics or computer science editor and to ask them to rewrite the page.
