is A World Class display specimen. This is a 230 gram complete slice of The
MORRISTOWN Mesosiderite. This meteorite was found in Hamblen County, Tennessee
in 1887. The total known weight of this meteorite is 16.3kg. Only a few small
pieces of this meteorite surface into the collector's market from time to
time....BUT NEVER do you see a complete slice. This is a prime display piece and
a once in a several decade chance to acquire for your collection. This
particular piece was in The Marquis de Mauroy Collection and can be found in his
catalog of 1909. It was later donated to the Vatican Collection along with his
other meteorites. This piece was traded out of The Vatican Collection last
year. I have had many requests for smaller pieces of this meteorite,
but I hate to cut up this beauty, EVEN THOUGH, I would make a whole lot
more $$$$. I would really love to sell this one whole.....so I will reduce it
just this once to $10,000.00.
