Rock not meteorite
centralohio.com

ZANESVILLE - The strange rock found Aug. 14 at the edge of the flower
bed of Tina Cochran of Garden Street is not a meteorite, she reported.

Cochran said the rock was finally examined by Eric Law from the
Muskingum College Science Department, who told her it had been subjected
to high heat, but was not a meteorite. If it was a meteorite, it would
have created a crater the size of her store.

Cochran admitted she was disappointed, but still wonders where the
object came from.
