Hello all, Please excuse what might be seen as shameless self-promotion, but I am aware that many on this list live where it is prohibitively expensive to set up a lab of any sort. Further, I'm aware that there is an increasing interest in and demand for access to modern biotechnology for smaller project groups and individuals, for whom the costs of setup are again prohibitive.
So without wasting time, I'd like to introduce Dremelfuge, a design I made to help remedy this need: A post on my blog detailing it further and with pictures of pelleted cells: http://letters.cunningprojects.com/?p=85 The homepage for the design, including the open-source design for those with access to rapid prototyping machines: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1483 The shapeways shop from which one can be purchased: http://www.shapeways.com/shops/labsfromfabs A youtube video demonstrating its use: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=86WnXeTZO_Y Sorry again if this is unwelcome, but I hope it's of use to someone! If you make one, please post on Thingiverse so I know it's been of use to someone. All the best, and Happy New Year to all on Methods, Cathal Garvey -- letters.cunningprojects.com twitter.com/onetruecathal _______________________________________________ Methods mailing list [email protected] http://www.bio.net/biomail/listinfo/methods
