Per liter, the PEI costs some negligible 0.052 $. ... Probably will be cheap enough to see that it gives several mg/L expressions for a few thousand proteins in the near future :) (of course it is perfectly true at the moment that baculovirus method has a larger database of successful applications but still, it is kinda clumsy and just wasting precious experimental time in many cases). best, David
