Dear experts,

following the standard protocol for coupling HRP to antibodies as
described in Harlow & Lane's bible, the brown HRP solution turns green
after adding periodate and back to brown after coupling and work-up.
Anyone has a chemical explanation for that? Assuming that periodate
will not reduce Fe3+ (brown) to Fe2+ (green), as it is an oxidizer, I
am lacking a good explanation. Any ideas?

Thanks!
Wo
