We use CrossTalk, that is a very old program, but enables communication to take place without any problems once everything is setup.  We had a tech make sure the wiring was correct and we had the basic information for each control.  Once we got the first one working we were able to get the rest setup in notime.  The first took about two hours.  This software is very inexpensive and works well with our equipment, Mazak's, and Ikegai's.

The computers have software called PC-DNC ( www.sub-soft.com )that the operators use to transfer the programs to the machine tool. We are able to update program on the fly and maintain the library of program from any system on the network.

Is there a DNC software that can allow you to send or receive programs from your computer, instead of going out to the machines in the plant to do the same.

Thank you
