I tried this with no success. When I entered my information and clicked "continue", the page freezes. Is the Install number my SC serial number?

EDS sponsored newsgroups
EDS maintains newsgroups called Bulletin Board Notes
(bbsnotes) for their
various products through their Global Technical Access Center (GTAC).

These newsgroups evolved from a pre-internet bulletin
board and includes
newsgroups for UG NX, Solid Edge, IDEAS and some defunct products such
as
Bravo, CAMAND and SmartCAM.
My point is that EDS already has an alternative to
the list server in place
but it is not actively being used. (There are currently only 6 entries
in 2
threads from 5 users.) I think that all the emails from the list server
archive could be imported to this news group to allow searching earlier
postings.
It is my hope that this is available to all SmartCAM
users. To access the
bbsnotes newsgroups you are required to have a "web key" consisting
of a
user ID and password. I already have one because our company subscribes
to
GTAC for UG support.
Can someone from the list who is not using a current
EDS product (i.e. UG,
Solid Edge, IDEAS) give it a try and let us know?
The following is the required information listed for
SmartCAM users:
SmartCAM - This requires an Installation Number and
a Server Code. You can
get your Server Code by clicking on the License Key icon located in your
SmartCAM program group. Then click on the Key at the top of the SmartCAM
License Administration form to open a pull-down menu. Choose Create or
Modify from the menu. The System Server Code appears at the top of both
the
Generate Request and the Modify License Key Forms.
