From what I've read here, it's not Windows XP specific, but rather Office 2000/XP specific. The most common action that causes it to happen is when you use "Keep Defaults" inside SC.
Can you tell if it always happens when you're performing the same task in SC?

I'm trying to get my new computer loaded with Smartcam
Advanced production milling and Wire EDM.
I have the permanent lock installed. It starts
and works for a little while then freezes up. Is this the same problem
others have had when using XP?
I have read the previous posts regarding the kill
ctfmon batch file. Is this what I need to do?
How is the batch file created? In Notepad? How is it saved?
Once I have created it do I just drag it and put
it some where like a root directly?
Could some one give specific instructions for this process
if it is what I need to do?
