This material is a generic version of a product called Anviloy 1150, a
powdered metal containing 90% tungsten with a nickel binder. You can get
all the specs and some beginning machining parameters at www.cmwinc.com.
They are the manufacturers of Anviloy 1150.
We have been using Garr TiAln coated solid carbide cutters at 130 sfm
around .060 doc and .006 fpt, buy plenty of cutters - this material is very
abrasive.

Terry,
I think this is the same alloy which gave me such a fit to machine when I
was with NASA.
I can't remember the tooling info, but I do remember that we used wire EDM
to cut it close to shape. The surface became impenetrable. We had to heat
treat it again to soften the surface before we could cut it.
Just thought I'd warn you about that.
