*Mar 14, 2011* *PANCHKULA*: In a matter pertaining to the alleged rape of a 19-year-old mentally-challenged girl of Ramgarh, Panchkula cops have prepared a cancellation report, which will be submitted before the superintendent of police in the next week. It was prepared after police received a report from Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), Madhuban, Karnal, which showed that the ''victim was not raped''.
Cops had received the forensic report last month. They have taken the opinion of Panchkula General Hospital doctors as well on it. They have also attached the statements of witnesses with the report. Sources said, ''Cops are waiting for legal department report and after receiving it, they will submit cancellation report to the SP.'' SHO of Chandimandir police station Jangsher Singh said they have almost completed the report and would submit it in the coming week. On the morning of December 2, 2010, the mentally-challenged girl of Ramgarh was allegedly gangraped by two unknown persons. After the victim had told her parents about it, the matter was taken up in panchayat and later, her brother lodged a complaint with police on December 3. After the complaint, cops had taken the victim to Panchkula General Hospital, Sector 6, for medical examination. Police had maintained that in the report, doctors had not confirmed rape. And so, they had closed the case. Angry over police inaction, her family had staged a protest at Panchkula mini-secretariat and submitted a complaint to the Panchkula deputy commissioner and the superintendent of police.
