To open discussions to all stakeholders we have attempted to collate all updates on a website <http://tinyurl.com/WeThePwd> so anyone can share, comment and collaborate in an open, fair and neutral space that is 'owned' by all. * http://tinyurl.com/WeThePwd* <http://tinyurl.com/WeThePwd> The news of discrimination of a disabled passenger<http://dignifiedflyingfordisabled.blogspot.in/2012/02/jeeja-ghosh-prominent-indian-disability.html>who was offloaded by a private airline (in clear violation of DGCA CAR M(1) Carriage by Air of Persons with Disability and/ or Persons with Reduced Mobility <http://dgca.nic.in/cars/D3M-M1.pdf>) was met with outrage by public and disability stakeholders alike globally, especially after a blitz of similar incidents took place around the same time. Various individuals and associations condemned the airline's actions officially as history was repeating itself - A note circulated collated the various cases of discrimination<https://docs.google.com/document/pub?id=142Z_IgTYGXJR51pHk1tZ1dZWkBxWJ7q5zdpin8SVGIM>towards disabled passengers in the aviation sector showed the lack of progress by the MoCA & Airline Authorities in compliance with the norms framed after the 2007 struggle. While the Commissioner of Disabilities was quick to issue a showcause notice the airline response was hardly satisfactory. On the discovery that the MoCA was framing a new aviation policy fresh inputs were again sought from miscellaneous stakeholders and submitted to the DGCA. On pressure from leading advocacy group(s) a meeting was organised in Delhi by MoCA to interface with disabled stakeholders.
