Have tried the following: Completely uninstalled Mplayer, Totem and gstreamer. Ran computer janitor Using control H in Nautilus, deleted any file that seemed related, such as playlist, reflector,etc.
Reinstalled all of the above. Problem continues, but am getting message "could not write to resource." I have never saved sessions, but one night I fell asleep running this stream with system on battery and it went dead. Problem is still happening. Anybody got any ideas? It is a pain putting the new Ubuntu in because it apparently doesn't put in a driver for my video card and screen is black.
