I suggest using the lightning talk format at the beginning of the meeting to
try covering some basic topics, then modify based on feedback. The short form
factor might help to keep the experts from climbing the walls and the novice
level of the talks might encourage more people to give talks. Popular short
talks could be expanded for a novice break-out meeting.
Some ideas:
creating/mounting a new filesystem
using pipes
walk-thru a simple bash/perl/python/whatever script
how/why to use md5/sha1 checksums
