Unrelated to phones, and also only semi-true. Android 2.x is for phones. Android 3.x is for tablets only. Android 2.4 will be forthcoming sometime this winter and will combine them. Yes, they broke SD card support in 3.x - but 3.2 restores it, and is released now. The droid 1/2/3 denotes the droid model number - Verizon phone, Motorola Droid, Motorola Droid 2, Motorola Droid 3. It doesn't imply a version. (The d1 had 2.0 and got 2.1 and 2.2, the d2 has 2.2.something and may be getting 2.3, the d3 ships with 2.3.4) -m --
