As part of some research I'm doing with a collage buddie of mine I just bought two JVC headphones Now a normal human can hear 20Hz to 20Khz but both headphones have a wider frequency range:
JVC HA-RX500 $20 Frequency Response 10Hz-22KHz JVC HA-RX700 $35 Frequency Response 8Hz-25KHz Both have sensitivity of 105dB/1mW So for my test I need to know what the source file contains. That is does the file contain frequencies that go below 20Hz and/or above 20Khz Thus I need a program that can tell me information about mp3,m4p and FLAC audio files so I can compare and contrast the two headphones. But trying to make it a fare test and drive them with source material that would create these edge cases to see if there is any noticeable differences. So does anyone know of a program that can display this information? I don't want a real time GUI, I would prefer analysis resulting in a text report, but a graph image is ok. This is not going to result in scientific results, just want to see if investing more then $20 when your source is a mp3 and the computer chip that came with the computer. I'll blog the results and not waist list messages on updates, but need the tools to do the work. -- /** ** Joe Apuzzo ** Call Sign: KD2AKU ** PGP/GPG: pub key ID BB5C7 **/
