Maybe, but you also don't learn as much doing this than fixing the specific thing that's broken. [I consider reinstallation as a general all-around solution to problems to be "a bad habit".] > -----Original Message----- > From: WestHurley ComputerReCycling <[email protected]> > To: mhvlug <[email protected]> > Sent: Mon, Jun 24, 2013 1:42 pm > Subject: [mhvlug] Recommended Distros for Windows & Linux Repairs? > > > Was asked this Question: What is the best Linux Distro for Windows & > Linux Repairs? > > I have no idea so thought best to post. > > Appreciate any recommendations of distros that you have found useful. I don't know about "best", but what I usually use is Knoppix. [I've tried other Linux LiveCD distros but for some reason I never like any of them as much as I like Knoppix.] Last time I was at an IEEE meeting discussing Windows malware and repair/recovery using Linux, the speaker at the time also used Knoppix for this as well. -- Chris -- Chris Knadle [email protected] _______________________________________________ Mid-Hudson Valley Linux Users Group http://mhvlug.org http://mhvlug.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mhvlug Upcoming Meetings (6pm - 8pm) Vassar College Jul 10 - Mad Science Fair - Open Hardware Expo Aug 7 - Scripting Your World with Python Oct 2 - OpenFlow: Open Standard for Networking Hardware
