And actually, as far as setting something up for family members, looking like Windows2000 would be more appropriate, as that's how I'd set up WinXP/Vista/7 anyway (disabling theming, etc). I've attempted to set up Win8 with the "classic" look, but their stripped-down look still has that dorky pastel look.

No, if I were setting up a Linux system, I'd prefer to *rejoice* in the Linux-look.
