I am also not that depressed with my router (VZ second generation ActionTek
MI424WR) however, they do have a new one that is supposed to be "hotter" -
I won't spend money to upgrade, but they aren't too bad. I do have a
separate "range extender" though - yeah - it eats some bandwidth but I
don't even notice it. I am not a super-critical user though.

Yes, I AM a VZ Employee, but that doesn't interfere with my ability to
criticize when warranted.
