I understand that you can use Linux running on a PC as a gateway. I
have a old 486 DX 100 with 16 megs of ram that I could install it
on. Is this enough machine? And is there already a canned Linux setup
available for this?

No, I just try to operate on a "if it aint broke, dont fix it"
principle. MiamiDX 0.9d works fine for me so I saw no reason to
upgrade. I'll upgrade to MiamiDX 1.0 in a week or two after I've
seen what problems others have encountered with it.
