The printer drivers aren't used directly by Samba at all. That feature is
just to make it easier to get drivers installed on PCs, by downloading
them from the server. If you only have one or two PCs it's probably more
trouble than it's worth. In a large corporate LAN, allowing users to get
drivers over the LAN isntead of giving them all disks is a big help.
There's no way to set it up without first installing the driver the
"normal" way on one PC, then going through some upload shenanigans to
"publish" it.
