Hi all!

I am trying to setup a LAN by using a hub. At the moment the only
computers attached to the hub are an Amiga using the unregistered
MiamiDX and a windows 95 machine. But it doesn't work yet :-(

The hub has a few status LEDs to indicate the status of each port. The
status LED for the Amiga connection turns 'ON' as soon as I turn on my
Amiga. But what is pretty weird in my opinion is that the LED turns OFF
at the very same moment as I press the 'online' button in MiamiDX for
that particular interface !?!

I fear I might be doing something wrong or I have bought myself an
incompatible hub. Does anyone have more insight in this?
Do you for example think it is a (hub-)hardware or a software problem?

And I have another question: Am I right in assuming that I could connect
the networkcards in my Amiga and the PC directly if I would use a
so-called crossed-over cable? I mean: can I skip the hub if I use a
crossed over cable?

Thanks!
