It might be something similar! Your situation involves a PCMCIA card and
I am using an Ariadne II, but because of your mail I tried what happened
after a clean boot.
First I booted without startup-sequence and did a couple of basic steps
like setpatch, assign env:, etc. This changed nothing.
Then I booted clean and without any extra steps I started MiamiDX (not
even assigning env:!). For every ENV: requester I choose cancel.
Somehow this helped!!!!! The LED on the hub did not switch to 'OFF' when
the Miami interface went online! With this setup I can ping one machine
in my LAN from the other!
Although this seems pretty strange to me, it seems to be a software
related problem. I'll do some testing tonight and try to locate the
culprit piece of software. If I find something I'll ofcourse share it on
the list.
It couldn't be OS3.5 related could it? :-)
