Thanks for all the replies. So what it looks like
is that I'm going to have to try moving my cards
around in all combination.
What really puzzles me is the thing about the
vendor and product ID's on the early startup screen.
What do others get for their x-surf card? Is that
related to the problem in some way?
The reason I have two sound cards is that the 516 I
use for multi-track music and the toccata works
together with the vlab-motion cad for video. I have a
supplemental power supply in an after market tower so
all my drives are powered separately from my
motherboard and zorro slots.
Thanks again everybody, I'm off to shuffle my
cards.
