OK, here's what I've done so far to try and get
this card to work in my machine. First I took out
each card one by one and restarted my machine. This
didn't help. The test program would fail to find the
card.
Then I tried the x-surf in each of the remaining
three open slots with the x-surf being the only card
on the bus. On the last one it finally was
recognized!
The problem now is that the test program reports a
failure when testing the memory on the card.
Even though it failed the test I still decided to
try and see if I could run Miami. The SANA-II driver
didn't work at all (I still got the same message as
before), the MNI driver would appear to load but when
I tried to go online it would fail. (I'm not sure my
TCP/IP settings were correct however). I tried to
connect it to my DSL modem and also to a hub which was
connected to my PC which uses internet connection
sharing.
Since the card fails the memory test I assume that
trying to use it at all is probably a waste of time.
I'm beginning to think that I may have to think about
getting a different card to use in my system.
Anyone have any thoughts about what I should do
next? I've already sent one email to the manufacturer
and am awaiting his response.
