Unplug the TPS so it doesn't see an idle signal, then search with the
gas (or mustard).

Unfortunately, for me, the problem (at least partially) is being
manifested by an oscillating idle- the Link thinks it is in idle, but
the RPMS jump until it hits the 1850 RPM fuel cut, drops down, and so
forth. 
I'll try it, but I'm not sure what I'm going to see while the
oscillation is going on- something different, I hope.
