It's a PIA. You can do it in the car, if you support the engine (build
something to go across the inner fenders and hand the engine from it),
but probably easier to just pull the whole thing. You will need end
seals, good silicone and oil pump pick-up gasket. You should also do the
front and rear mains while you're in there and if you're going that far,
the o-ring on the oil pump. Common leaks that masquerade as oil pan
leaks are missing plugs in the oil pump (from where the dipstick goes in
on the 323) and leaving the bolt out that held the a/c compressor mount
(if you have removed the a/c). You do know there is no actual gasket,
right?
 
PS If you had a spare grand, you could throw in the lightweight front
sub-frame, then you could pull the pan with no trouble ;-)
