Hello, I just changed my 1995 Miata Glove box latch key barrel, and the trick is to take a very thin flat head screwdriver (or something similar), and press the brass piece visible on the back of the key barrel in towards the round plastic piece, and then push the barrel through. It's really quite simple, but not obvious until you study it. Jerry aka LGO
