Frankly speaking

A 1999 1.8 even without Vics will be a great improvement over stock, and nobody 
will even think it is not stock OEM, and it will run great on stock to the car 
ECU and sensors, so why dwell on something that is not an issue.
Just get the motor and run it on all original to the car electronics, and for 
fuel get an FM fuel rail and run stock injectors.
