First, you say it won't start, but you don't say what it WILL DO... When you
turn the ignition to ON/Start or press the button (whichever method you have
and use), does the starter engage? My first guess, IF the starter does not
engage, is that the solenoid is worn and should be replaced. If it's a
starter/solenoid combined unit, you'd need the starter. If the starter works
and the engine cranks, then when you first turn the key to ON, can you hear the
fuel pump?

Subject: Diagnostic help needed

I have a 2002 Miata engine/trans in a Lotus 7 clone. It runs and drives
perfectly, but suffer from some sort of heat soak issue. It will run fine, is
you switch it off and they restart it within seconds your OK. But if you leave
it for 5 mins it will not restart. If you take the hood off and let it cool
down it with re-start perfectly. I have replaced the cam position sensor on the
top of the engine on the back of the inlet cam. But it made no difference. I
added a fan controller so I could get the fan to run on after switching the
engine off, but it did not really help. So maybe I just have to swap sensors
until I find the right one. But what logic can I use to try and decide were to
start.

Thanks
