I think that only works to '94. The 95 and up cars had a laminated
seat foam that makes this much more difficult. Or maybe it was the
'96 cars that had those seats...
I wrote one of the articles on Miata.net on removing seat foam for
taller drivers.

Unless you're prepared to go with a racing seat (and
the attending reduction of comfort), foamectomy is the way
to go. To do this, you remove the cover to the seat, remove
some seat foam, and put the seat cover back on.
I've done this to the seat in my '94. I'm about 1.5
inches lower than stock. And it's comfy. Search miata.net
for 'foamectomy'.

Hopefully
this is an acceptable place to ask this question –
I am looking at swapping out my driver seat and
want to find a seat for my 95, that will allow me
to sit lower in the car (I hit my head on the hard
top) and allows for the seat to be adjusted for a
smaller driver (not fixed to the floor).
Suggestions?
Thanks,
Cameron
