Katzkins are really well made. I think Crazy Red sells them.

Steven (Ken, Brad, Etc) - Thanks! Now all I need is a good replacement seat
cover and I am off to sculpting! Looks like there are a few out there but it's
hard to tell which ones are "quality". Any experience on that front is
appreciated.

... And for the really custom foamectomy follow the breadknife with the belt
sander. I put 50 grit on my belt sander. It makes it easy to sculpt the foam to
a nice cushy shape.

You can do a foamectomy on them on 96/97's.

Remove the seat, loosen the seat bottom cover from the rear. Use a
breadknife to cut the bottom of the foam that sits in the dished out seat pan.
Then put it back together.

I think that only works to '94. The 95 and up cars had a laminated seat foam
that makes this much more difficult. Or maybe it was the '96 cars that had
those seats...

I wrote one of the articles on Miata.net on removing seat foam for taller
drivers.

Unless you're prepared to go with a racing seat (and the attending reduction
of comfort), foamectomy is the way to go. To do this, you remove the cover to
the seat, remove some seat foam, and put the seat cover back on.

I've done this to the seat in my '94. I'm about 1.5 inches lower than stock.
And it's comfy. Search miata.net for 'foamectomy'.

Hopefully this is an acceptable place to ask this question - I am looking at
swapping out my driver seat and want to find a seat for my 95, that will allow
me to sit lower in the car (I hit my head on the hard top) and allows for the
seat to be adjusted for a smaller driver (not fixed to the floor).
Suggestions?

  Thanks,

  Cameron
