Perhaps Mibble 2.5 will work. Looking through the change log,
there was a fix adding a JDK 1.4 requirement in version 2.6.
So it is possible that the previous version actually worked
with JDK 1.3. Can't remember for sure any more.
Perhaps you might be able to backport your version of Mibble
to JDK 1.3 without much effort. That way you'd get all the
bugfixes too.
