Greetings all, My name's Bernard and I live with my lovely (and understanding) wife on the northwest side of Detroit. For those of you not familiar, don't believe all the negative hype you hear; I grew up here and maintaining a modicum of common sense saves you from 90% of the perceived danger whilst you enjoy everything Detroit has to offer.
The setup here is pretty decent. I've got a (very recently acquired) G4 733 1.5GB RAM w/ SuperDrive running OS X 10.1.1 and a LaCie electronblue III 19" monitor as the main production machine for various jobs, a great deal of gaming, email, web surfing, etc. Connected to it is a Umax 6400 FW scanner. I've got a Pismo G3 400 for the road (yes, comparisons to sliced bread are apt) and my wife has a 7600 w/ Sonnet G3 300 upgrade. This is all connected to an Airport BaseStation (ok, this is the *real* sliced bread), 16 port ethernet hub, Linksys router (obtained at the MichiMac swap not so long ago), DSL modem and LaserWriter 630 Pro. Looking under my desk, a mammoth Conext 900VA UPS rounds things out (wouldn't want to forget it since I'm constantly stubbing my toe on it). In addition, I've got DT and MT PowerMacs in various states of "for sale." I started off my Apple career using Apple IIe in middle and high school; all my papers in college were written on either a Mac Classic or (later) "top-of-the-line" Performa 6115. Tough to get Marathon Infinity running on the latter.... Had an iMac rev. B that I loved dearly until I sold it to my mother-in-law (cheap!) as her first computer. Got to keep the beloved Macs in the family. Anyone interested in a Quadra 950, PowerMac 9150 w/DAT drive or broken AppleVision 17" monitor?
