You can get a DVD burner made by Pioneer (which is what Apple uses) and just install it in place of your current CD player/burner. Make sure the firmware is up to date and you're good to go. It's an easy swap out.

Other World Computing (www.macsales.com) is selling them pretty darned cheap these days for an older model and they also provide excellent instructions on installation. I'm not affiliated with them in any way, just a very satisfied customer on many fronts.

You'll need software to burn DVDs. Not sure if iTunes will burn to a DVD, I've never tried it. Toast will burn DVDs, and I'm sure there are others.
