Hi,

You can either use a Gently Annie PM washing machine motor for output up to 5 amps or
a smart drive for much higher output.

For the Gentle Annie connect the white/orange/green wires together to from a star
point and the three other ends to your 3 phase rectifier, and have a play. Mount the
shaft in your drill press and you can quickly do some test to see what you can get
from it. The other option is to convert smart drive (much larger), we have a full set
of test results for these. See our web site.

Subject: [microhydro] DC dynamo, Motor/Generator help?

  Howdy all,

I am looking for a suitable DC dynamo or permanent magnet motor to produce an output
of 1-2 amps at 12volts. I could live with higher up to 24v and 2 amps but am just
after something small. Most applications I can find are either too large or too small.
Considering that I am in Australia I was wondering if anyone would know where to
source a suitable generator?
