It was suggested to me that a 3KW 125V DC generator could be used to charge a 
48VDC battery bank through the use of one of the new MPPT charge controllers, 
like the Outback MX-60.  The main problem being that the absolute maximum 
voltage allowed on the input of the charge controller is 150V or a little less. 
 I suspect that a DC generator might exceed that with no load (e.g. fully 
charged batteries) so I was wondering what ideas the group might have for 
effectively limiting the voltage without adversely effecting the operation of 
the controller or generator.
