I saw plans for making a steam version in some machinist's magazine at Barnes & Noble. It has ~10 parallel disks about an 1/8th inch apart. Alternate disks are on the shaft and on the case mount. The drag spins the shaft disks.

I've worked traditional for over 20 yrs. but I want to play with microhydro behind my house in the future.Has anyone out there in microhydro land ever used a Tesla boundary layer drag turbine in a micro set-up? I've done a lot of reading about these turbines that the world has forgotten and I don't want to reinvent the wheel if someones already using one.Any info would be appreciated, thanks,Craig.
