CATCHER; You are broke, that is a major problem
Put the three TEENAGERS to work for the turbine money !! You need to measure the velocity of the river to see if you have ways to generate power from it The power usage you report may require to produce around 5 KW of energy OR to start to manage your energy expenditures to reduce those KW-H. The river may have fish, so you may have usage restrictions. If seems that what you could do would be a floating Turbine with limited diameter multi turbine set up to be able to accept the periodic flooding and the restrictions of minimum water depth 5 KW may be difficult to attain in an easy non-too expensive way. One may remember that if the installer has good mechanical savvy the installation costs may run from about 1000 to 5000 dollars per kilowatt. The distance from the steam to the house is not problem for the power transmission.
