Hello everyone I am researching environmentally friendly, and efficient ways to produce large amounts of hydro-power(at least 20 MW) without building a traditional dam.
How would the initial construction costs, maintenance, and efficiency compare between building many smaller, efficient turbines in a type of Run-of-the-river systems compare with a traditional dam? I am an intern for an environmental company. I am trying to find an environmental alternative that uses the river, to building a standard dam. If I can find some viable alternatives to the historically standard approach, hopefully greater environmental protection can be acheived. These are for upcoming potential projects in China. Thanks, I appreciate any help anyone can give! Ian ------------------------ Yahoo! Groups Sponsor --------------------~--> Get fast access to your favorite Yahoo! Groups.
