Seeing that I had some energy left after Buttercup, I went to Vassar Farm from about 4:00 - 6:00 pm. Part of me was hoping to see that Barred Owl again, but I knew it was a long shot. These were my sightings:
- 2 Mallards - 1 Canada Goose - 3 Common Grackles - 4 Red-Winged Blackbirds - 1 Great Blue Heron (Juvenile) - 2 Eastern Bluebirds - 4 Brown-Headed Cowbirds - 20+ White Throated Sparrows - 1... maybe 2 White Crowned Sparrows (Originally dismissed them as White Throated, but then one turned towards me and I saw the brighter bill and white crown. The other jumped into the bushes. Because of that early botched ID, I missed a perfect photo opportunity of a first sighting for me) Other Notables: - 4 Pearl Cresents - 8 Tiger Swallowtails - 2 Clouded Sulphurs - 1 Cabbage White - 1 Snapping Turtle (Came out of the bushes in front of us near the eco ponds)
