The previously reported Mississippi Kite was seen again yesterday - in my
case, by a group of us at around noon - at Donato Road, off Mapletown Rd,
in the town of Root, Montgomery County. It was reported again later in the
afternoon. As was the case last year, the bird has been absent for long
periods of time, apparently going elsewhere to feed.

Also present in the vicinity were: Brown Thrasher, Indigo Bunting (singing a
really odd song), several American kestrels, and nearby in Sharon Springs,
several Upland Sandpipers visible from the road at the horse farm on West
Ames Rd.
