The condition of the taxiways and runways is certainly better. It was the
bumpiest airport on the planet for decades but about a decade ago they
discovered how to make flat surfaces.

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey unveiled a 10-year capital
development proposal with $20.7 billion in airport projects, including
reconstructing a terminal at both New York LaGuardia (LGA) and Newark Liberty
International (EWR) airports. The proposal for capital projects, now open to
public comment, is a follow-up to the Port Authority’s 2017-25 capital plan
that yielded a series of airport revamps. These include soon-to-open Terminals
1 and 6 at New York John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), a new Terminal
