Dear Group I'm in the process of doing a gap analysis for a small MFI in Kenya who would like to use Mifos to support their MYC4 ( <outbind://208/www.myc4.com> www.myc4.com) lending operations, which are very similar to Kiva. Overall I think we can make the system work for them but there are two exceptions where I feel we may either need some customisation or some creative inputs from those who know the system very well. I'd greatly appreciate any inputs on these and/or advice on who could do the customisation if that is the only option.
1. unique government (national) ID We need to ensure that the same person never gets registered twice on the system and the easiest way to do this is to use the Government ID field to store the client's national ID number. However in an ideal world this number would be unique so that if i tried to register the same person again it would give me a message to say that they already exist. Related to this, I'd like to be able to search for clients using this as the search criteria. Is there any way of doing this (other than using a report)? I'd expect that it would be a configuration setting to active this unique setting. 2. additional stage in the loan process I won't bore you with the reasons why, but basically we need an additional 'verification' step which should happen after loan application but before loan sanctioning. It could be a very simple checklist or just 'click approve or reject' (with a rejection reason). Once verified the loan details could still be edited, as it is with application. It is only on sanctioning/supervision that everything would be frozen.
