Geraldine, Thanks for your questions
1. In regards to the unique government id, Mifos does indeed require this field to be unique. If you tried to enter the same ID again, the system would give you an error and not let you proceed. At the moment we don¹t have functionality to search by government id, and as you mentioned, our current recommendation is to build a report to do so that would return the client¹s Mifos ID, which you can then use to search by. 2. For the loan process, I just want to make sure I'm clear on this. When you are talking about 'sanctioning' a loan, is that disbursing the loan? The general state flow for a loan is "pending approval" -> approved -> disbursal. Also, when you change the loan in these states, or changing it to cancel, you generally have to enter in a note (not all the states. You do when approving or canceling a loan, but not when creating or disbursing the loan, although you can always add notes as you like). This won't meet your need? Can you clarify a bit? We also do have a checklist feature that would require someone to check the boxes before changing the loan state (ie, like validating they have done something when approving the loan), although I find their use in practice to be a bit minimal, but it may meet your needs.
