Clean up error or junk data
---------------------------
Key: MIFOS-5310
URL: http://mifosforge.jira.com/browse/MIFOS-5310
Project: mifos
Issue Type: New Feature
Components: Database
Reporter: Ed Cable
Since Mifos is a financial application, data can not be deleted; it can only be
made closed or inactive. When mistakes are made or test data is input into a
product environment this can create unnecessary data clutter.
Pradeep from Adhikar requested in the Priority Gap document, "Functionality to
clean up error data"
During a user meetup, Henrik requested the ability to delete junk data due to
the amount of junk data that builds up in the system Could there be some
limited scenarios in which deleting could be allowed?
Potentially should have a user with super-privileges that can delete data -
unwanted products, other "test data"' that's in a production environment.
For security issues, we still shouldn't permit any global role or
super-permission which can delete data and should pursue a secondary approach
as proposed by Henrik such as:
Could also have a mechanism to tag data as junk - then be able to filter this
so it doesn't clutter the UI nor reporting.
