Thanks for all the comments to the install guide.  I had just put this
up online a little while back and was in the process of perfecting it.

I'll get the changes made so it clearly reflects the best installation
procedure.

Ryan,

Yes, if it's for a production, staging, or test installation. For
developing software, you need a JDK.
